Bruin Harold
After a long life admirably and enthusiastically lived, Harold Bruin,
96. Raconteur and devotee of the arts was on Tuesday May 3rd, 2005
reunited with his wife and soul mate, Beatrice (Hayward) Bruin. Harold,
a respected educator and musician cherished his Bruce Peninsula community.
While he reveled in many travels and adventures abroad, he was happiest
entertaining, enjoying classical music and teaching on the Bruce.
Harold was predeceased by his sister Wilma and brothers Alfred and
Kelly. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Dorothy Bruin of Wiarton;
Ann Bruin of Windsor/ Lion's Head and June McDonald and her husband
Lewis of Waterloo. Harold will also be missed by his many loving nieces
and nephews. Though saddened by this loss, the family takes heart
in the thought of Harold and Beatrice together again, surrounded by
spring flowers, opera washing over them, basking in endless sunlight,
companionship and joy. The family will receive friends at the Davidson
Chapel 71 Main Street, Lion's Head on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and
7:00 to 9:00 PM. A celebration of Harold's life will be held at Christ
Church, Anglican Main Street, Lion's Head on Saturday May 7th at 2:00
PM with Rev. Bob Mansfield officiating. Interment, Eastnor Cemetery,
Lion's Head. Donations to the Lion's Head Hospital or the charity
of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Condolences may
