GIROUX, Armand Joseph

passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the Golden Dawn Nursing Home, Lion's Head on Monday, January 19, 2009 at 90 years of age. He will be sadly missed by his best friend and devoted partner Evelyn Dailey as well as special friends Daryl and Doug and all of Evelyn's family. Armand was a loving father to his son Armand Jr. and his wife Janice Giroux of Port Severn. He is predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters and will be held dear in the hearts of his many nieces and nephews. Armand put up a valiant fight to recover from a stroke a year ago. His life is a testament to the strength and determination that carried him through many hardships. He was a real survivor that entertained everyone with his unique character and a twinkle in his eye. It is a comfort to know that he often said the last ten years were the best of his life.

Cremation has taken place. A time to gather and share memories will be held at the Davidson Chapel, 71 Main Street, Lion's Head on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton. Many thanks to Dr. Harpur and the Lion's Head Hospital Staff as well as the wondreful caring staff of the Golden Dawn Nursing Home.
