of Lions Head passed away suddenly on Friday, September 29, 2006 in her 75th year. Dear mother of Scott and his wife Laura of Clavering, Brian and his wife Lori-Ann, Owen and his wife Pattie, Darren and his wife Terri all of Lions Head, and Gaylene and her husband Andrew Whittington of Anten Mills. Special grandmother of Pauline, Ryan, Derek, Tiffany, Penny, Mark, Melissa, Bryce, Miranda, Brandon, Alecia, Mackenzie, Clinton and Olivia and three great grandchildren Kristopher, Kurtis and Laura. She will be sadly missed by her brother Bruce (Lois) Hardman of Clavering and her sisters Sarah (Milton) Hayes, Ruth McLay both of Lions Head and Reta McLay of Newmarket. Verna was predeceased by her husband Clint, her parents Gladys (Weir) and Charles Hardman and brothers-in-law Alex McLay and Chuck McLay.

The family will receive friends at the Davidson Chapel, 71 Main Street, Lions Head on Monday, October 2, 2006 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00. The funeral service to celebrate Verna's life will be held at the Bethel Missionary Church, 18 Ferndale Road, Lions Head on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Billy Strachan officiating. Interment Eastnor Cemetery, Lions Head. Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton. As expressions of sympathy, donations made to the Lions Head Hospital or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
